Introduction

　　The Department of Reproductive Medicine at Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital was established in 2005. In 2007, it began offering Artificial Insemination by Husband (AIH). On July 9, 2024, the department successfully passed the national inspection for assisted reproductive technologies and obtained licensure for in vitro fertilization (IVF, including first- and second-generation techniques). As a key development department of the hospital, it has been at the forefront of reproductive medicine.

　　Specialty Features

　　The department encompasses various subspecialty clinics and facilities, including the Reproductive Immunology Clinic, Female Infertility Clinic, Reproductive Genetics Clinic, Reproductive Endocrinology Clinic, Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic, Male Infertility Clinic, and a soon-to-open Reproductive Tuberculosis Clinic. It is also equipped with reproductive laboratories, an ultrasound imaging center, IUI and IVF embryology laboratories, operating rooms, and medical records archives.

　　Reproductive immunology is the hallmark of the department, emphasizing a unique treatment philosophy of combining traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with Western medicine and addressing infertility collaboratively with both partners. The department adopts a closed-loop management approach, starting with personalized pretreatment plans for couples lasting over two months, followed by egg retrieval and embryo transfer, and concluding with active pregnancy maintenance after successful implantation.
